Alfred just dropped three new books full of ukulele arrangements of great rock tunes: Acoustic Rock for Ukulele, Hard Rock for Ukulele, and Classic Rock for Ukulele. All come complete with a play-along CD, featuring Alfred's "Tone-n-Tempo" player allowing you to loop, slow down or change pitch on any tune.
Acoustic Rock runs through songs like Joni Mitchell's "Big Yellow Taxi", Green Day's "Good Riddance" and Rod Stewart's "Maggie May", all arranged for uke with standard notation, tablature and lyrics provided. Suggested strumming patterns and chord diagrams make this a usable edition for anyone starting out or looking to expand their repertoire.
Classic Rock covers tunes like "Bad to the Bone", "Hotel California" and "Stairway to Heaven", with the signature guitar licks and riffs arranged for uke. "Stairway" in particular sounds great on a ukulele!
Hard Rock takes on the grittier end of the spectrum with Nickleback's "How You Remind Me", Finger Eleven's "Paralyzer" and Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love".
If you are just getting into the latest uke craze, these books are excellent places sto start,as the songs are familiar and well-arranged. For those more experienced, the advanced level of some of the arrangements can add some classic rock sparkle to your set list.
