This hollow-bodied twangtastic beast was one of the highlights of the December 2017 Gardiner Houlgate Guitar Auction in Corsham, Wiltshire.

The vintage Duane Eddy signature model ended up selling for a very reasonable £1,600 (plus fees) and we’re sure its lucky new owner won’t be disappointed with what they got for their money.

All of the 1960s-period Guild hollowbodies we’ve encountered over the years have been superb guitars that punch in the same weight category as their bigger-name counterparts, but have a sound, feel and vibe all of their own.

Check out this guitar’s woody and toneful original humbuckers in action alongside the ’66 Fender Coronado that we featured last month at youtube.com/theguitarmagazine and be sure to stick 8 March in your diary, as that’s when the next drool-worthy pile of vintage and used gear goes under the hammer.

We’ve had a sneak preview and we’re already excited at what’s on offer!
