Every month, we compile a few lists of guitars fresh out of the oven. Here’s one dedicated to the latest electric and acoustic guitars.

Framus D-series Idolmaker

Framus has released a brand new finish for its D-series Idolmaker guitar – Burgundy Blackburst Transparent High Polish. The D-series Idolmaker is a more economical offshoot from its Custom Shop Masterbuilt and Teambuilt predecessors and was released in 2019 due to popular demand. It features a mahogany body with a flamed maple top, a set mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard, and two Seymour Duncan pickups (’59 and JB for the neck and bridge respectively).

Tommy Thayer’s fourth Epiphone collaboration comes in the form of the new Electric Blue Les Paul Outfit. Striking finish aside, the new Tommy Thayer Les Paul keeps the classic Les Paul tonewood combination of mahogany and maple and comes loaded with a pair of blue-bobbin Seymour Duncan JB humbuckers to match the guitar’s finish.

Danelectro 64XT

The foremost authority on quirky guitars is back with the 64XT. Danelectro’s latest offset offering recalls guitar designs of the 50s with its reversed double-cutaway design. The 64XT comes with a distinctively designed angled double lipstick pickup – or “Lipstock” – in the bridge and a large-housed single-coil pickup in the neck, angled in the opposite direction.

Fender’s growing Rarities series welcomes its latest member, the Flame Maple Top Stratocaster HSS Thinline. Sporting a luxe Violin Burst-finished flamed maple top, the new limited-edition Strat also uses a semi-hollow mahogany body and solid rosewood neck. A pair of Custom Shop ’69 single coils in the neck and middle position, and a Custom Double-Tap Humbucker round up this Strat’s features.

With Winter NAMM fast approaching, ESP has prudently unveiled Phase II of its 2020 guitar line-up. New additions to the catalogue include the LTD Deluxe SN-1000FR, which comes in a swamp ash body with a roasted maple neck and fingerboard. The ‘FR’ suffix denotes the presence of a Floyd Rose 1000SE tremolo on this model.

Solar Guitars E2.7C

Fully embracing the djent lifestyle sometimes requires the presence of an additional string, and Solar Guitars is ready to meet that challenge thanks to its latest series of seven-stringers. The E2.7C is an Explorer-shaped guitar with a top-loading Tune-o-matic bridge and Seymour Duncan Solar pickups. Other specs include a mahogany body, C-shape maple neck and a 22-fret ebony fingerboard.

Strandberg 10th Anniversary Boden

In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Strandberg has released a special commemorative-edition of its Boden guitar, which sees the iconic instrument receive gold and silver finishes. The run is extremely limited, though – only five of each model are available for purchase.

Faith Guitars HiGloss Neptune Baritone

Faith Guitars is dipping its toes in the baritone market with the HiGloss Neptune Baritone, releasing just in time for Winter NAMM 2020. The manufacturer’s first baritone guitar comes in their ever-popular Neptune baby-jumbo shape and features a longer neck and scale length to accommodate lower register-tunings.

Relish Trinity

Relish’s latest guitar is a compulsive pickup swapper’s dream come true. The new Trinity guitar by Relish allows users to easily swap the pickups without the need for a soldering iron, thanks to brand’s swappable pickup mount. Users can also send their preferred pickups to Relish to be fitted with a swappable mount if they already found their ideal set.

Córdoba Luthier Select Series, Esteso

Córdoba Music Group have announced a huge release ahead of NAMM 2020, comprising multiple guitars for both the Córdoba brand and Guild. Córdoba’s sole entry for this release is the Córdoba Luthier Select Series, handcrafted y master luthiers. The Esteso model comes with a choice of either a solid European spruce or red cedar top, with pau ferro back and maple sides.

Chapman GC-exclusive Ghost Fret Pro

The new Guitar Center-exclusive version of the Ghost Fret Pro comes in a bloody new finish, while retaining all the tried-and-true features that make the originals a solid workhorse guitars. Said features include a pair of Chapman Primordial Alnico V humbuckers wired for coil-splitting via a push-pull tone pot, Hipshot Grip-Lock high-ratio tuners, a Graph Tech Black TUSQ X nut and strap locks.

Schecter C-7 Multiscale Silver Mountain

Schecter has announced that it will be updating its PT Pro series for NAMM 2020, while also introducing a brand new series of guitars – the Silver Mountain. The C-7 Multiscale Silver Mountain is a set-neck guitar sporting mahogany body with an arched top. It also features a three-piece mahogany neck reinforced with carbon fibre rods, along with the newly developed Schecter USA Sonic Seducer pickups.
