Line 6 has launched the HX Stomp, a multi-effects unit that packs the processing power of a Helix in an ultra-compact enclosure.
With the HX stomp, you have access to over 300 amp, cab and effects models from the Helix, M-Series and legacy Line 6 products. Up to six of these can be used simultaneously.
In terms of design, the sleek unit is no larger than most run-of-the-mill pedals. Its intuitive user interface features a small but handy 320 x 240 pixel LCD screen and three capacitive-sensing footswitches with LED rings that make preset selection a breeze. If those are not enough, external footswitches and expression pedals can also easily be connected. The HX Stomp works great on its own, but you can connect it to your favorite pedals through its two effects loops.
Another feature Line 6 has touted with the HX Stomp is its capacity as a tone expander for an existing modeler or profiler. Place this stompbox in your current device’s effects loop, and you’ll instantly have access to another six processing blocks—on top of your DSP’s offering.
Even with its petite stature, the HX Stomp features a laundry list of connections: stereo ins and outs, the aforementioned effects loops, headphone out, TRS dual expression input, MIDI and USB. The latter facilitates use of the HX edit software and third-party impulse responses loading.
