The vision and artistry of Black musicians have defined the guitar and shaped the very reason why so many of us even picked up the instrument. Every strum, every note bent, every chord rising and every amplifier flicked on is the reverberation of Black musicians and artists through history. We are standing on their shoulders.

Guitar.com is uniting in solidarity to observe Black Out Tuesday on 2 June. Not only out of respect and recognition of the hardship and struggle the community has faced and continues to face, but also to stand tall against injustice, discrimination and violence in any form.

We’ll be spending this time to look inward and ask ourselves how we can better support Black musicians and guitarists. Let us know how we can do better. Talk to us at editors@guitar.com.

We’ll be back tomorrow.
