BMF Effects has collaborated with Marc Ford to produce the Marc F’N Ford stompbox. It’s a no-nonsense—as you can tell from the name—dual-channel boost and overdrive pedal.

The new pedal essentially combines BMF Effect’s Purple Nurple Overdrive and GB Boost Germanium Booster circuits into one heavy-duty enclosure. The former, as described by the brand, goes from “a gritty/clean boost to a mild fuzz with tweed-like breakup,” while the latter is a germanium boost pedal based on the classic Dallas Rangemaster.

Each of these circuits can be run independently, or in series, with the boost stage going into the drive stage—essentially a boosted drive. Controls are pretty straightforward, with “Volume” and “Drive” knobs for the Purple Nurple section and “Volume” and “Tone” knobs for the GB Boost one.
