Cort Guitars’ MO has always been to deliver premium instruments at wallet-friendly prices. And the South Korean company’s latest bass guitar, the A5 Plus SCFF, is no different.

The five-stringer sports high-end components that belie its $1,499 price tag. Like Bartolini MK-1 pickups and preamp, swamp ash body, neck-through construction, a five-piece maple and Panga Panga neck, and a Panga Panga fretboard. Yep, Panga Panga. It’s an African hardwood that Cort claims to produce a tighter response.

A fanned fretboard and deep single-cutaway add to the playability of the bass, while a spalted maple top—in two luscious, open-pore finishes—and platinum hardware make the A5 Plus SCFF a sight to behold.

The A5 Plus SCFF bass lists for $1,499. For more information, check out cortguitars.com.
