The guitar is a faithful recreation of Hooker’s coveted 1961 Epiphone archtop Zephyr—his main “squeeze” on tour and in the studio for over a decade. Here’s a quick rundown of the 2018 replica’s key features:

At the heart of the guitar’s sound is a pair of Epiphone ProBucker Mini-Humbuckers that deliver a commanding and thick vintage jazz tone. Each pickup has independent “Volume” and “Tone” knobs, in addition to a three-way pickup switch.

Like Hooker’s original Zephyr, this guitar comes in an all-hollow body design. It features a maple top and body, ivory binding, traditional unbound F-holes and a foil “E” tortoiseshell pickguard. Its mahogany neck sports a vintage “C” profile and has a 12-inch radius Pau Ferro fretboard with pearloid “split block” inlays.

In terms of hardware, the axe features a Pau Ferro floating bridge, vintage trapeze tailpiece, and a set of Wilkinson Deluxe machine heads paired with ivory buttons.

The guitar is in limited supply and comes with a hard case, leather strap, certificate of authenticity, and a presentation binder.
