The UK’s Download Festival has announced its headliners for 2021: KISS, Biffy Clyro and System Of A Down will play across the weekend of 4-6 June.

Several of the bands on the bill return from the prospective lineup for Download 2020, which was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Kiss and System Of A Down return as headliners, with Biffy Clyro replacing Iron Maiden. It’ll be their first headline slot at the festival since 2017, when System Of A Down also headlined alongside Aerosmith. They will be performing tracks from their forthcoming album A Celebration Of Endings, which arrives on 14 August.

Festival organiser Andy Copping said of the announcement: “2020 has been a tough year for us all, and we were beyond gutted not to be able to experience Download Festival with you all.

“We gave you Download TV to reflect on memories of the past, and what the festival means to all of us. Download 2021 is going to be something special and go down in the history books as when the Download family reunited. We’re going to be working hard behind the scenes to make Download 2021 an unforgettable experience and a celebration of the festival we all love.”

Other acts on the bill include Gojira, Deftones, Korn, The Distillers, Steel Panther, Frank Carter And The Rattlesnakes, The Darkness, Black Veil Brides, The Darkness and Alestorm.

Tickets go on sale 9 AM GMT on Friday 7 August. The full line up that’s been announced so far is in the Festival’s tweet below:
