The Foo Fighters are gearing up to perform the first full-capacity show at New York’s Madison Square Garden as, for the first time in 15 months, artists start to perform to packed crowds in New York again.

Attendees will have to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination in order to attend. Excitement for the show from the Foo Fighters is palpable: “We’ve been waiting for this day for over a year,” the band wrote in a tweet to announce the show. “Madison Square Garden is going to feel that HARD. New York, get ready for a long ass night of screaming our heads off together to 26 years of Foos.”

Madison Square Garden’s Executive Chairman and CEO, James L. Dolan echoed Grohl’s sentiment in a statement. “The Garden is ready to rock,” he said. “We’ve been waiting for this moment for 15 months and are excited to finally welcome a packed house of roaring, fully-vaccinated Foo Fighters fans to Madison Square Garden.”

Tickets for the show go on sale on 11 June at 10 AM ET – and you can get your tickets here.

As vaccinations continue to roll out in the US, the country’s live music industry has been steadily progressing towards a return to form. On Tuesday (8 June) The Strokes announced they would be performing an in-person concert at Irving Plaza on 12 June in support of NYC democratic mayoral candidate Maya Wiley.

Meanwhile, Bruce Springsteen is set to return to the St. James Theatre on 25 June until 4 September as part of Springsteen On Broadway.

Progressive rock legends King Crimson revealed their plans for an extensive North American tour supported by the Zappa Band, kicking off this Summer.
