Love Rising, a benefit concert to raise money for LGBTQ+ organisations, is set to take place later this month (20 March) featuring performances from Jason Isbell, Julien Baker, Hozier and more.

Love Rising will be hosted at Bridgestone Arena, in Nashville US and features a star-studded line up of guitar-focused musicians. The event will raise funds for LGBTQ+ charities such as the Tennessee Equality Project, Inclusion Tennessee, Out Memphis and The Tennessee Pride Chamber.

The concert comes as a response to the state’s anti-LGBT legislation, including recently passed laws restricting drag shows and transgender treatment and surgery. Confirmed performers at the show so far also include Hayley Williams, Sheryl Crow, Brothers Osborne, Jake Wesley Rogers, Joy Oladokun, Maren Morris, and more with further names to be announced.

“SB3/HB9 and SB1/HB1 are clearly targeted attacks on Tennesseans who haven’t done anything wrong,” Isbell said in a statement (via Stereogum). “These bills add up to an attempt to eradicate a valuable part of our community and force good people to live in fear. We can’t in good conscience just stand by and let that happen.”

“As a queer, intersectional artist and mother, raising my child in Nashville, it’s important to me to support these wonderful Tennessee LGBTQIA+ advocacy organisations, working so hard to build bridges, reduce harm and promote equality for all Tennesseans,” Allison Russell said. “LGBTQIA+ contributions and creativity are foundational to every genre of modern song and arts performance. I think it speaks volumes that so many in our community are feeling the same call to support, celebrate and uplift!”

Love Rising will take place on 20 March at Bridgestone Arena, Nashville. Tickets are on sale later today (10am CT, 8 March) which you can purchase at Ticketmaster.com.
