John Mayer has announced his first ever solo acoustic tour, due to take place this Spring across the US and Canada.

Back on the 19 January, Mayer began teasing some kind of event, writing in an Instagram post, “It wasn’t time until it was”, along with a ticket emoji – and it looks like the news is here.

Described as “20 years in the making”, the trek is set to feature solo performances by Mayer and his acoustic guitar, along with special performances on piano and electric guitar, in arenas throughout the US and Canada.

It kicks off Saturday 11 March 2023 in Newark, New Jersey, at the Prudential Center and will run until Friday 14 April in Los Angeles at the Kia Forum. Tickets go on sale Friday 3 February at 9 AM local time, with pre-sales starting Wednesday 1 February, at 9am local time, which will run through to Thursday, 2 February, at 10pm

Singer-songwriters Lizzy McAlpine, Alec Benjamin, and a special guest to be announced at a later time will open the shows, and a limited number of VIP packages will also be available including premium tickets, exclusive merchandise, and more.

Two pairs of front-row tickets will be auctioned off for each show on the tour through CharityAuctionsToday. All proceeds from these auctions will go to the Back To You Fund, which has supported many charities, including John’s Heart & Armor Foundation, as well as programmes supporting at-risk youth and the homeless.
