Summer NAMM 2021 to go ahead with in-person edition

Summer NAMM 2021 is set to go ahead with an in-person event later this year.

As in previous years, Summer NAMM 2021 will take place at the Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee. This year’s edition will be held from 15 to 17 June. Organisers have stated that they will be working closely with the city of Nashville and local authorities to ensure the event proceeds as safely as possible.

The trade show said in a statement: “[We will be] following guidance from leading agencies, including the World Health Organization and Center For Disease Control, on a detailed plan utilising the latest event safety and security measures to create a safe and sound, business-conducive environment to reunite our communities at 2021 Summer NAMM.”

Safety measures put in place include modified floor layouts, increased physical distancing, temperature screening, sanitisation stations and “touchless” experiences.

In addition to this, NAMM will be teaming with Good To Go, a hospitality safety program under the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp, for additional support to ensure proper health and safety guidelines are implemented.

Earlier this January, the 2021 Winter NAMM show took place in an entirely virtual capacity in lieu of the cancelled in-person edition in Anaheim, California. Last year’s Summer NAMM show was cancelled as well due to COVID-19, with organisers writing in a statement at the time: “The current circumstances make it impossible to hold the show.”

Meanwhile, last November’s Music China 2020 convention went ahead as an in-person event, with extensive health and safety measures in place. It was attended by 80,000 visitors.
