Faith No More have revealed a set of European tour dates, marking the band’s first live performance together in four years.

These dates also mark Faith No More’s first European shows in five years.

In a statement, the band wrote: “Five years, four colonoscopies, two root canals and a handful of prostate exams tell us that it’s time to carpe diem our asses back to Europe ASAP.”

The tour will start at Sunstroke, Ireland on 13 June 2020. Two more performances have been revealed – one at Hellfest in France (June 20) and the other at Tons Of Rock in Norway (June 26) – with more European festival performances to be announced.

Faith No More’s last performance was in 2016, after which the San Francisco band went on an “extended break”, according to an interview with frontman Mike Patton on the Full Metal Jackie radio show.

During Faith No More’s hiatus, singer Mike Patton joined up with Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo to form Dead Cross. Keyboardist Roddy Bottom also composed a mini-opera titled The Ride.

Bottom also revealed that Faith No More was working on new material during an interview with Chandler Sorrels. “I will periodically go to San Francisco and make music with those guys. I think we all acknowledge that it’s not something that any of us want to turn our backs on, and it’s fun to do,” he said.

“So in the hopes of pushing things forward and making new music, we continue to do that, to get together and make new sounds and just have a dialogue about prospects and songs and where we go in the future.”
