Furch reveals seven new acoustic line-ups
Named after the hues of a rainbow, the new Color Line succeeds the company’s flagship Millennium guitars.

Furch has unveiled—count ’em—seven new series of guitars that take their names from all the hues of the rainbow. The Color Line, as they’re collectively known, replaces the Millennium series of acoustics, and they come in a whole range of options for those who want a fuss-free workhorse to those aching for a no-expense-spared instrument.
Here are the highlights of the Color Line:
First things first: All the guitars have solid tops. But go down the price points—Red’s the most spec’ed out and Violet’s the least—and you’ll start to see laminate backs and sides. The Red models, for example, sport either Sitka spruce or American red cedar tops, and Indian rosewood or black walnut back and sides.
Soundboard voicing technology
Furch implemented its proprietary voicing technology to each Color Line instrument. According to the company, this tunes the soundboard of the acoustic guitars in order to achieve a “clear, harmonically rich, balanced and highly dynamic” tone. The Red guitars, however, go one step further: Even their backs have been tuned.
The body shapes
The Color Line is available in almost all acoustic body shapes you can imagine—save parlor and jumbo sizes. From round-shouldered dreadnoughts to thin-waisted orchestras to guitars with single-cutaways, Furch covers all the bases.
One of two finishes is used in the Color Line: full-pore or open-pore. The former involves layering an ultra-thin coat of lacquer that provides protection, accentuates the grain and gives the instrument that coveted gloss. On the other hand, the latter also has a thin layer of lacquer that adds protection—think of these as a better version of an oil conditioner.
You’ll find the full-pore finish on the Red, Orange, Yellow and Green guitars, and the open-pore finish on the Blue, Indigo and Violet ones.
The guitars in the Color Line list from EU793 to EU3,189. For more information, check out furch.cz.
