The Beetronics Vezzpa “Octave Stinger” combines digital controls with analogue fuzz

Beetronics has returned with the Vezzpa Fuzz, the latest addition to the brand’s Babee series and the first to combine digital controls with an analogue fuzz circuit.

At its core, the Vezzpa is powered by an op-amp and offers two operating modes: Fuzzzz and Stinger. The former lets you blast a thick wall of fuzz, ideal for big power chord motifs and the like, while the latter is attuned to sharper and more aggressive tendencies, complete with up-octave stacking.

To further adjust your tone, there’s a sustain control that takes the pedal from open-sounding to sputtery and gated.

Meanwhile, the pedal’s digital controls are linked to performance features tied to the the footswitch. While you’re in bypass, holding the footswitch down will momentarily engage the effect. While the pedal is already engaged, you can double click the footswitch to toggle between modes, or hold down to momentarily switch modes.

If you’re familiar with Beetronics devices, you’ll know the company has a penchant for ornate enclosures; the Vezzpa is no different. The colourful stained glass design has textured embossing that really makes the artwork stand out.
