Fans of Biffy Clyro will soon be able to add to their rigs a guitar pedal designed by the Scottish rock band – as a signature drive unit for frontman Simon Neil has just been officially unveiled.

The pedal is entitled the Booooom / Blast, and will go up for preorder this Friday (6 November). Each one of the limited batch will be hand-painted and signed by Neil himself, and will set you back £299. You can hear a brief preview of what it sounds like below, or watch an unboxing courtesy of Neil himself.

Neil spent a while teasing the signature drive pedal, sharing on Instagram a brief look (and listen) of what may be a prototype of the dirt box.

The video teaser was posted today (3 November) and follows a similarly cryptic teaser shared just a few days ago (31 October). In the latter video, Neil told his followers: “We’ve been very, very busy.”

Both teaser videos were published on Instagram by Gone Fishing Effects, the newly launched pedal brand of Biffy Clyro guitar tech Richard Pratt. You can find out more when the brand’s website launches here.

In other Biffy Clyro news, the Scottish rock giants recently offered their take of the Cardi B tune WAP – part of the band’s appearance on BBC Radio One’s Live Lounge in September.
