Blackstar Amplification has announced Live Logic, a flexible six-button MIDI foot controller presented in a compact form factor.

The device aims to offer players MIDI control over their recording and performance environments, as well as serve a bridge between pedalboards, DAWs, outboard gear and more. For instance, the Live Logic could be connected to a computer via USB, and deployed to relay MIDI messages from non-USB guitar pedals directly onto a DAW.

On its front-facing panel are six footswitches. While operating in Patch Mode, switches one through four are used to send out program change MIDI messages, while five and six are used to scroll through banks.

In Custom Mode, footswitches can be assigned to any MIDI-based parameters with options for changing specific MIDI values, toggling modes and more through Live Logic’s companion software.

Along with this, the controller offers official integration to Ableton Live, allowing it to act as a DAW control surface, or as a performance controller for looping or even controlling live lighting rigs.

As for its sockets, the Live Logic includes MIDI ins and outs, two expression inputs, a USB port and a 9V DC power input. Alternatively, the controller can be bus-powered, or powered through a 9V battery.

The Blackstar Live Logic lists at $179.99. Learn more at blackstaramps.com.
