Blackstar has announced the Unity Elite bass head and cabinets, expanding on its current Unity bass combo amp.

Firstly,  the U700H bass head offers an enormous 700 watts of power for extremely high headroom in any live situation. However, that doesn’t mean its focus is on fully linear, clean amplification, as it offers three separate power amp stages and a unique Response control to shape how the amp responds to your playing, and how it compresses the signal. For more tone-tweaking, there are chorus and sub-octave effects built-in.

There’s also a drive section with three distinct gain styles: overdrive, distortion and fuzz. These come with a blend control for keeping some clarity in the signal. The amp’s I/O is aimed at professional versatility, offering the standard balanced XLR and quarter-inch jack, as well as a USB-out.

The head’s matching cab set are ultra-lightweight wooden cabs, and are fitted with  Eminence ceramic drivers as standard. They’re available in the following configurations: U410C Elite, a 4×10 cabinet, U210C Elite, a 2×10 cabinet, and U115C Elite, a 1×15 cabinet. All three are rated at 8 Ohms and feature Combi ¼” + speakON input and thru jacks.

Bassist Gili Goldberg also talks about his approach to tone and why the Unity Elite works in Blackstar’s other video.
