Blue Cat Audio has released update 1.4 for its guitar and bass multi-effects processor, Axiom. It’s also released the new Hot Tuna plug-in.

Hot Tuna is a high-precision tuner that can be used as a standalone plug-in or as a built-in effect as part of Axiom 1.4. It comes with the option to dim or mute the signal when active, and has an adjustable reference of anything between A = 430Hz to A = 450Hz. Blue Cat Audio also notes that the tuning processing is performed in the background, ensuring it doesn’t impact the real-time-audio.

The Axiom 1.4 update, as well as the Hot Tuna, also brings a new stompbox look and feel for most its other built-in effects (all 44 of them). Blue Cat Audio has also made it easier to access Axiom’s ‘amp simulation tone map,’ moving it to be accessible from the main interface, as opposed to having it hidden in the main amp editor. This interface lets you create and tweak amp tones by manipulating points on a 2D map.

The final feature that comes with the 1.4 update is support for dark mode on Mac OS Mojave and newer.

The Hot Tuna plug-in and Axiom are both currently discounted to $6 & $149 respectively, until 21 February, when the price will rise to $9 and $199.
