This hollow-body electric guitar is a prototype of Setzer’s signature Gretsch guitar, modelled after the 6120 model first introduced in the mid-50s. “People are very interested in the guitar that’s called Smoke, that Gretsch is making,” said Setzer on the guitar. “It’s an exact replica of the guitar I’ve played for 30 years. I’ve played it on all the albums and tours, on Sleepwalk and all those songs.”

“They’ve made two prototypes. This is the first prototype of the Smoke guitar. That’s a real nice-playing one.”

Setzer revealed that he made use of a special tuning in order to attain the distinct guitar tone on the track. “I achieved the unique sound by tuning the top two strings, the Bs and the Es, in harmony,” he said.
