Cort has added the Gold-OC6 to its Gold range of acoustic guitars. The Gold-OC6 is a smaller-bodied guitar than the rest of the range, and has a slimmer neck than its bigger siblings. Cort says the guitar will provide ease of playing for guitarists with smaller hands, as well as the same vintage acoustic tone at a more manageable size.

The guitar is a single-cutaway design, with African mahogany back and sides and a solid Sitka spruce top. The Sitka spruce top has been treated with an ‘Aged to Vintage’ process – which Cort says “enables this brand-new guitar to have the big, open tone of a decades-old acoustic” – the sonic characteristics have been based on a 1920s single-cutaway. The guitar is available in a natural gloss finish, which is strong and resistant to scratches. Cort also notes that the light finish improves “the natural acoustic resonance of the body for a full-bodied and rich tone.” Despite its more compact design, the guitar still has a 25.3″ scale length.

The neck joint is Cort’s DoubleLock joint, which combines a dovetail and a bolt for maximum tonal transfer. The guitar’s walnut neck is 43mm wide at the nut, providing an easier compact width for those with smaller hands. The Ebony Fretboard has dot inlays and 20 frets in total.

Driving the output of the guitar is a Fishman Flex Blend preamp, which combines an under-saddle pickup and condenser mic for a blended, natural sound. It also features a built-in tuner.

The Gold-OC6 lists for $1,099,99. Find out more at cortguitars.com.
