NAMM 2020: Crossrock has announced the Air Carbon Series acoustic guitar case, which aims to provide extreme protection without also sporting back-breaking weight.

If you’ve ever had to trade off between weight and peace of mind as you check your guitar onto a flight, Crossrock says their new case is for you. It notes that the “new dreadnought-style case inherited the attributes of ‘Light as Air, Strong as Steel’ from the previous models of the Air Carbon Series. It’s designed to be a world traveler while offering the best of both worlds: indestructible yet lightweight, rugged yet luxurious.”

The case weighs in at 6.5lbs (just under 3kgs), thanks to its carbon fibre construction. This doesn’t come at the cost of strength, either, as Crossrock notes that it tested the Air Carbon Series with various rigorous trails – dropping it in barrels of water, throwing it down a flight of stairs, hitting it with hammers and jumping and standing on the case. It says that after each test, the guitar inside was completely fine – thanks to the tough shell and extensive nylon padding. The finish should be safe as well, due to the silk-like lining which avoids any scratches or dings.

For extra ease when flying, there is also an included TSA lock from Dupont Nylon, which assists with airline check-in.and has an unbeatable performance in extreme temperatures to ensure its longevity.

The CrossRock Air Carbon case lists for $999. Find out more at crossrockcase.com. For more information on what’s at the upcoming NAMM show, check out our rundown here.
