Including some sparkly baritones that Phoebe Bridgers probably wouldn’t mind smashing…

Danelectro has launched a healthy range of new models and colourways for 2023, including revamped versions of its familiar ‘56 and Longhorn Baritones.

To kick things off, the brand has introduced a ‘59 Blackout Series, which sees the Danelectro ‘59M NOS+ model in three new finishes – Black Metal Flake, Purple Metal Flake, and Green Envy – now all with black side tape.

These also come with colour matching headstocks and black seal-shaped scratch plates and are up for grabs at £679 or £619 for Green Envy.

The original ‘59M NOS+ is now available in two new finishes – Seafoam Green and Copper – and Danelectro says each comes fitted with a new NOS+ pickup which offers “better highs, punchier mids and solid lows”. The RRP is £619 for these models.

But of course, one of the most talked about revivals of Danelectro’s 2023 launch is its Longhorn Baritone model, with its return announced back in October last year. These are available in Copper Burst or Silver Burst, come loaded with Lipstick pickups, and have a 24-fret double octave dot inlaid rosewood fingerboard, for a price of £649.

The ‘56 Baritone in Black or Black Sparkle is also back, but now with higher impedance and high output Lipstick pickups, for an RRP of £689. Just in time for Phoebe Bridgers to grab a new one for the new Boygenius era, but who know’s if she’ll smash this one to smithereens this time.
