Dave Rude’s limited-edition Epiphone Flying V was inspired by a Tom Petty shirt

Tesla legend unveils his new signature model.

Dave Rude has teamed up with Epiphone on a limited-edition Flying V with a striking Alpine White finish and red pickguard.

The Tesla guitarist originally approached Epiphone’s R&D team with an idea for a Flying V model inspired by an old Tom Petty shirt he had. The brand obliged with a one-off custom model, and that led to this new instrument – Rude’s debut signature – which fans can own for themselves.

The Ltd Ed Dave Rude Flying V features an okuome body and neck, and a hard maple fretboard. Searing tones come courtesy of ProBucker 2 (neck) and ProBucker 3 (bridge) pickups with coil-splitting capability. In terms of hardware the guitar has a tune-o-matic bridge with a stopbar tailpiece and Grover Rotomatic tuners.
