NAMM 2020: Dean Guitars is showcasing a new addition to its Select range, the Cadi Select Quilt Top Floyd Ocean Burst.
The guitar’s mahogany body, in Dean’s Cadillac shape, comes with a striking quilted maple top and a blue burst finish – paired with a matching headstock. The three-piece set-through neck is also mahogany, and sports an ebony fretboard, pearloid block inlays, 22 jumbo frets, a 24.75-inch scale length, a dual-action truss rod, a 12-inch radius and a and a V profile. The guitar’s premium look is completed with five-ply body and headstock binding, as well as single-ply neck binding.
As you perhaps guessed, the Cadi Select Quilt Top Floyd Ocean Burst offers a Floyd Rose tremolo bridge, as well as a locking Floyd Rose R3 nut for tuning stability that should withstand divebombs and squeals.
The guitar is loaded with the Dean-exclusive Seymour Duncan TB5 bridge pickup and APH-1 neck pickup, coming with a distinct zebra parchment finish and sandblasted pole pieces for a bit of visual flair – as well as a versatile tone that Dean describes as “ideal for many styles and genres.” Each pickup has a dedicated volume and tone knob, with audio taper pots to prevent muddiness at lower volumes.
The Dean Cadi Select Quilt Top Floyd Ocean Burst lists for $999. Find out more at deanguitars.com. For everything we know about NAMM 2020, check out our rundown here.
