Dean has announced a range of four new models, the NashVegas Select Series.
The guitars, according to Dean, boast “a classic look but plenty of original attitude”. They feature T-style bodies, loaded with two zebra Dean-exclusive Seymour Duncan APH-1N and TB-5 humbuckers. The APH-1N in the neck is voiced for warmth, while still retaining dynamics for the pick attack. The bridge’s TB-5 is an overwound PAF-style humbucker, voiced for a bright upper-midrange which should provide plenty of harmonic saturation when driven hard.
A bolt-on neck completes a 25.5” scale length, fitted with a 22-fret ebony fretboard and perloid dot inlays. The body wood, meanwhile, is basswood.
Two of the models are available fitted with Floyd Rose 1000-series tremolos, the other two come with a tune-o-matic-style hard tail. In either case, the hardware is finished in chrome black. The body comes in one of two finishes – black satin and metallic red satin.
The master volume and tone controls are laid out where you would expect on a guitar like this, but the 3-way selector switch is placed on the lower horn.
The hardtail guitars list for $749, while the Floyd Rose versions list for $849. More information at deanguitars.com.
