Alongside today’s announcement of the Bliss Factory, another collaboration between two of the biggest names in the world of boutique pedals has been launched. Death By Audio and Earthquaker Devices have joined together for the Time Shadows – two pedals in one box, with each being designed by EQD and DBA respectively.

According to Death By Audio Founder Oliver “Ollie” Ackermann, the pedal is “an insane synth buzz bazooka sound on the EarthQuaker side and a multi-intertwined delay filter remorphinator of cosmic waves on the Death By Audio side.” Both sides reportedly sound “wildly” different from each other, but both should be good for creating beautiful sonic chaos regardless.

The collaboration between the two builders consisted of both of them designing a new effect around one of EQD’s circuit boards. The unit features three knobs, controlling delay time, filter span and filter cutoff respectively. In the centre of all these is a toggle switch to choose between either the EarthQuaker side of things or the Death By Audio side of things.

The launch comes in celebration of a new trailer for The Pedal Movie, Reverb.com‘s dive into the history of boutique stompboxes. Take a listen to how it sounds (alongside the Bliss Factory) in Reverb’s video below.

The pedal can be ordered exclusively from Reverb.com, listing for $199. For more gear news, click here.
