Dunable Guitars has launched a new series of instruments: the DE series. The line is a more affordable take on two of the brand’s designs – the Cyclops and the R2. Dunable’s main line of guitars are built to custom orders, and so these set-spec models sacrifice the multitude of timber options in lieu of a lower price.
Owner and founder Sacha Dunable plays in the band Intronaut, and if you’ve heard their music it should be no surprise that these guitars are tuned for metal. Both the Cyclops DE and the R2 DE have a longer scale length of 25.5 inches (perfect for retaining tuning at lower tension), and dual high-output Dunable Cthulhu humbuckers.
Each model comes in two colours – gloss black and tobacco sunburst for the Cyclops DE, and Matte Black and Tobacco Sunburst for the R2 DE. While the main series of Dunable guitars are designed and built in California, the DE models will be produced in “one of the world’s most respected manufacturing facilities” in Asia, according to the brand.
Take a look at Dunable’s demo of the guitars below to hear them in action and get a closer look.
The R2 DE lists for a base introductory price of $999, while the Cyclops DE lists for an base introductory price of $899. Both introductory prices are discounted by $100. Some custom options are still available, such as different pickups or Gotoh locking tuners.
