Gold Glory was revealed in an Instagram post shared by JJN yesterday (27 January), who added that the guitar will be available for purchase in April.
“I am completely humbled & over the moon to have not one, but TWO signature Les Pauls!” he wrote in his post. “Being born in Waukesha, Wisconsin; just like [Les Paul], I feel so honoured and grateful for these beautiful axes!”

Epiphone hasn’t yet announced a full list of specs for Gold Glory, but aside from the stellar gold look, the guitar appears to feature the same hardware specs as the original Old Glory. It has one aesthetic difference: the omission of the “Blues Power” plate below the bridge. Besides that, it keeps the single P-90 bridge pickup and simple volume and tone controls.

Nichols once explained that he was attracted to the idea of a single-pickup guitar after trying one out that belonged to Aerosmith’s Joe Perry.
“Ever since Joe Perry loaned me a 50s Les Paul Custom with a single pickup, I knew I needed one of my own,” he said in a statement. “This is an incredible guitar. I can’t put it down. I’m so honoured and grateful.”
