Ernie Ball Music Man has added three sparkly new finish options for its Valentine electric, the signature model of Maroon 5 guitarist James Valentine.

Both the hardtail and tremolo editions of the guitar come in a choice of Pink Champagne, Maroon Burst or Tobacco. The other specs remain unchanged: there’s an ash body and figured roasted maple neck, plus a pair of Ernie Ball Music Man custom pickups.

The guitar’s control section is rather unique, with the volume knob supplying an active boost up to 20dB and the push-pull tone knob offering coil-splitting for the neck humbucker. There’s also a three-way selector.

For hardware, the Valentine comes with either an Ernie Ball Music Man modern tremolo system or hardtail bridge. Locking tuners come in the form of the Schaller M6-IND.

The Ernie Ball Music Man Valentine in Pink Champagne and Tobacco go for $2,799, while Maroon Burst models are $2,699. The tremolo editions will run an additional $100 for each model.

Last month, Ernie Ball Music Man launched a limited-edition signature bass model for Rage Against The Machine bassist Tim Commerford. The bass – which comes in four variations – is derived from the StringRay’s design.
