ESP has announced a wide selection of new guitar and bass models making up the first “phase” of its 2021 catalogue.
These first models offer fresh takes on some classic LTD models – though nothing from the more premium ESP front has been unveiled just yet. It’s likely we’ll see them show up in phase two.
LTD EC-1000T CTM (Tobacco Sunburst and Thru Black Cherry)
This more classic take on the EC-1000 features a full-thickness body that’s chambered for weight relief. It offers two Fishman Open Core Classic humbuckers that route to push-pull control settings for added voicing options. You can find this guitar in either Tobacco Sunburst or Thru Black Cherry.
LTD EC-1000 EverTune BB
The BB in its name refers to this model’s extra-thick metallic silver bold binding. Equipped for modern rock, this guitar fits an EMG 60TW-R in the neck and an EMG 81 humbucker in the bridge. The former can also be coil-split via a push-pull control. There’s also an EverTune bridge to keep things in tune.
LTD EC-1000 (Gold Andromeda)
The EC-1000 Gold Andromeda sports an eye-catching iridescent finish that emits different hues when viewed from different angles. That gets paired against all gold hardware for an elegant look.
This model also features a set of Fishman Fluence Modern humbuckers – alnico in the neck and ceramic in the bridge. Its premium features are completed with a push-pull voice selector and a TonePro locking bridge set.
Black Metal Series models
LTD EC-FR Black Metal
The EC-FR Black Metal divebombs deeper into metal territory with the addition of a Floyd Rose 1000 bridge. This model also comes outfitted with stainless steel frets, a single direct-mount Seymour Duncan Blackened Black Winter pickup, and a push-pull control on the volume knob for coil-splitting.
LTD F Black Metal
As if it wasn’t metal enough, ESP’s extreme F-shape guitar now comes in a Black Metal Series edition. This guitar features a neck-thru-body design and an extra thin U-shaped neck for playing comfort. It offers a single EMG 81 active humbucker and an EMG TKO kill switch. Completing this guitar is a Floyd Rose 1000 bridge and TonePro locking tuners.
LTD Arrow-NT Black Metal
This sharp guitar gets the Black Metal treatment and features a host of shred-focused features. These include a TonePros locking bridge and string-thru-body design, stainless steel frets, as well as the active EMG 81 humbucker and TKO kill switch.
LTD M-4 Black Metal
The M series of bass guitars gains a new member in the M-4 Black Metal, a straightforward rock rhythm machine. This model features a slab body with a pointed inline headstock. It features a bolt-on design at 34-inch scale and offers a single direct-mount EMG 35CS at the bridge position. There’s also Grover tuners, a Gotoh bridge and stainless steel frets.
LTD Phoenix 1004
The second bass introduced for 2021 is the Phoenix 1004, which is reminiscent of another classic bird from the school of rock bass design. This model is finished in a sleek black finish and offers EMG 35P4 and EMG35J humbuckers for greater tonal variety.
MH and H series models
LTD MH-1000 and MH-1007 EverTune
This guitar comes in two editions: the Dark Brown Sunburst edition comes equipped with EMG 60TW-R and EMG 81 pickups, while the Snow White edition has a set of Fishman Fluence Modern humbuckers. Both employ EverTune constant tension bridge for improved tuning stability and feature Grover tuners and stainless steel frets. Meanwhile, the MH-1007 EverTune Snow White is the same model with a seven-string design.
LTD Deluxe H-1001
This guitar sports a striking Violet Andromeda Satin finish that could look blue, violet or green when viewed from different angles. The H-1001 offers a direct-mount Seymour Duncan Sentient humbucker in the neck and a Pegasus in the bridge with push-pull coil splitting talents. There’s also a Hipshot bridge with a string-thru design and stainless steel frets.
TE and PS-1 series models
TE-1000 EverTune KOA
This guitar highlights its attractive Hawaiian koa top by pairing it with a natural gloss finish. The TE-1000 EverTune Koa combines a classic look with modern metal-focused appointments. There’s an EMG 66TW active humbucker in the neck and an EMG 57 humbucker in the bridge. The former can also be coil-split for more tones on tap.
TE-1000 Black Blast
Of course, the TE-1000 also comes in black. As the name implies, this one sports a dramatic sandblasted finish for an intense look. That gets paired to a roasted maple neck with stainless steel frets. It offers a different set of pickups as well: a Seymour Duncan Sentient humbucker in the neck and a Pegasus in the bridge.
LTD Xtone PS-1 in Vintage White and Pearl Pink
The more semi-hollow LTD Xtone PS-1 gets two new finishes for 2021, Vintage White and Pearl Pink. These versatile electrics sport mahogany bodies, maple necks and a set of high-output LH-150 humbuckers, designed in-house. According to ESP, these versatile instruments should cover genres from “metal to pop to indie to jazz to reggae to just about anything you want to do musically”.

The SN1-HT is another sandblasted electric that features a straightforward design and premium features. There’s a single Fishman Open Core Classic pickup with push-pull talents for accessing multiple voicings.
