Faith Guitars has announced the Lyra, a nylon-string acoustic guitar aimed at “non-classical specialists,” according to the manufacturer.

The Lyra features a neck with a slimmer profile than a traditional classical guitar. However, it aims to strike a balanced width that allows for comfort, but does not inhibit proper fingerstyle technique.

The guitar is part of Faith’s HiGloss series, and so the Lyra’s solid red cedar top and solid rosewood back and sides are finished with an all-over high gloss lacquer that Faith says “enhances the traditionally warm and rich tonal character” of the guitar.

It also features a mahogany neck with a figured ebony fingerboard and a figured ebony bridge, alongside a 5cm genuine Rosewood soundhole rosette. A Fishman Sonitone preamp and pickup, electronics specifically designed for nylon-stringed guitars, amplify the guitar, with the volume and tone controls mounted discreetly inside the soundhole.

The Lyra is the latest in a run of new releases from Faith, with the Blue Moon and the Dark Roast being announced last month.

The Faith HiGloss Lyra Nylon String is available to order now, listing for £865. More information at faithguitars.com.
