Squier’s Classic Vibe series of instruments has gained a new offset member in the CV Late 50s Jazzmaster.

The affordable electric guitar features a poplar body, bolt-on maple neck with a C-profile and a 21-fret Indian laurel fingerboard. It comes in two finish options: two-tone sunburst or white blonde, both matched with a gold pickguard and black pickup covers.

Electronics include a pair of Fender Designed alnico single-coils which route to the traditional Jazzmaster control scheme, consisting of a punchy lead circuit at the bottom and a fuller-sounding rhythm circuit in the upper horn.

As for hardware, the guitar comes loaded with a Mustang-style bridge in lieu of the more finicky multi-grooved original. It also has a non-locking floating vibrato, vintage-style tuning machines and chrome control knobs.

In other Fender news, the brand launched its Player Plus series of electrics yesterday (15 September), which includes a line-up of new Stratocaster, Telecaster and bass models equipped with a new range of Noiseless pickups. The series serves as an extension of, rather than a replacement for, Fender’s popular Player series instruments.

The Squier Classic Vibe Late 50s Jazzmaster is listed on storefronts online, such as Chicago Music Exchange, for $460.
