Fender has unveiled some new options for its custom guitar builder, the Mod Shop. Now available via the parts-picker are hardtail bridges for Stratocasters, the option for a black painted headstock and a new finish: Inca Silver.
Previously, Stratocasters bought through the shop all came with a standard tremolo bridge, and hardtail Strat options were hard to find outside of custom builds regardless. Some signature-model exceptions include the Billy Corgan signature or the Robert Cray signature.
The new Inca Silver finish is available on all of the Mod Shop models, provided you select an Alder body. It joins the Silverburst in terms of shiny silver options for your custom Fender – however, with a much flatter look.
The option for a black painted headstock is also new, allowing you to match your guitar’s body or put together some interesting contrast across the guitar.
The P-bass also sees the notable addition of the option for V-Mod PJ Bass pickups, combining Tim Shaw-designed P-Bass and J-Bass pickups for a versatile sonic palette.
