Fender has unveiled its latest Parallel Universe design, the Jazz Strat. As its name suggests, it combines the design ideas of the Jazzmaster and the Stratocaster into one hybrid guitar.

The main takeaway from the Stratocaster world is the body shape, with the signature dual horned shape – other than that, the guitar leans quite heavily towards the Jazzmaster side of things. Its neck, vibrato tailpiece, and pickups are all of Jazzmaster origin, with the neck sporting a medium C shape, and a 9.5” radius rosewood fretboard.

The guitar comes finished in Mystic Surf Green, with a pinstripe pickguard and aluminium radio-style control knobs for master volume and tone control. Other features include an alder body, Fender ClassicGear tuning machines and a three-way toggle switch on the lower horn of the body.

Take a look at Fender’s demo video below:

The guitar lists for $1,999, and ships with a hardshell case. More information at fender.com.
