Gibson has unveiled the new Exclusives Collection, a set of special editions of its 2021 electric guitars finished in either Olive Drab or Ebony rather than their original finish options. Most of the specifications and pricing remains the same.

Olive Drab Les Paul Special and Classic

Les Paul Special

Available in a gloss nitrocellulose Olive Drab finish for 2021 are two Les Paul models: the Les Paul Special and the Les Paul Classic. The Special comes fitted with two P90 pickups, controlled by the usual faire of a volume and tone control each. The bridge is a compensated wraparound tailpiece, while the mahogany body and neck are joined by a 24.75-inch scale Indian rosewood fretboard.

The Les Paul Special lists for $1,599.

Les Paul Classic

The Les Paul Classic comes with two open-coil Zebra BustBucker humbuckers again controlled by a standard Les Paul knob layout with some added tweaks: four push-pull pots provide choices of coil tapping, phase switching, and pure bypassing. The mahogany body features nine-hole weight relief, a maple top and a set mahogany neck with a 24.75-inch scale Indian Rosewood fretboard.

The Les Paul Classic lists for $1,999

Ebony Les Paul Standard 50s & Les Paul Standard 60s

Les Paul Standard 50s

Les Paul Standard 60s

The main difference between these two vintage Les Paul models is the neck shape: a vintage 50s shape for the Les Paul Standard 50s and a thinner ‘SlimTaper’ 60s profile for the Les Paul Standard 60s. The former also features a Burstbucker 1 and 2 in the neck and bridge respectively, while the latter has a BurstBucker 61R in the neck and BurstBucker 61T in the bridge.

Both guitars are constructed with a non-weight-relieved mahogany body, a mahogany neck, and an Indian rosewood fretboard that completes a standard 24.75-inch scale length.

Both list for $2,499.

Ebony SG Standard ‘61

SG Standard 61

This guitar features a set of throwback SG specifications, including a mahogany neck rather than maple, and trapezoid fretboard inlays. Electronics are a no-nonsense pair of Burstbucker humbuckers with a volume and tone control each (no push-pull pots here). Hardware includes an aluminium ABR-1 tune-o-matic bridge and stop-bar tailpiece, as well as vintage-style tuners.

Lists for $1,799.

Ebony ES-335 P90

ES-335 P90

This Ebony-finished ES-335 comes with two P90 pickups, with white covers to contrast the body finish. Construction consists of a 3-ply maple / poplar / maple body, with a set mahogany neck and a 12-inch radius Indian rosewood fretboard. Other hardware includes an aluminum ABR-1 tune-o-matic bridge and stop-bar tailpiece, as well as vintage-style tuners.

Lists for $2,999.

Ebony 70s Flying V

70s Flying V

Announced at Namm 2020, this Flying V model combines a number of specifications and popular mods to various 70s Flying Vs, including stacked pickup rings on top of a larger, full-body pickguard and open humbuckers. This Ebony version also switches the white pickguard to black to match the body finish.

Lists for $1,999.
