Gibson has teamed with online music retailer zZounds.com to put out a special Flying V Tribute, dressed in a Worn Olive Drab satin finish.

This mahogany-bodied guitar comes with a matching mahogany neck with a slim tapered profile for smooth and fast playing. It has a rosewood fingerboard which is equipped with 22 frets and acrylic dot inlays.

For electronics, this Flying V equips Gibson’s 490R and 490T humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions, respectively. These are closely related to the iconic PAF humbuckers; the 490R was designed to deliver some extra mid-range response. Both humbuckers route to a control section with a volume knob, tone pot and three-way pickup selector.

As for the guitar’s hardware, you’ll find a tune-o-matic bridge, vintage deluxe tuning machines with keystone and black tophat knobs in black. Its olive drab finish is also contrasted against a bold black pickguard. Each guitar also ships with its own gig bag, which is useful considering most standard gig bags won’t accommodate the Flying V’s wider body shape.
