In addition to a reissue of a long-lost Leo Fender design, G&L has announced that it is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a ruby-finished, highly limited run of the Custom Shop L-2000, designed by Leo Fender.
The bass’s Okoume body comes with a 3A quilted maple top, and is loaded with Leo Fender-designed powerful MFD pickups – one in the bridge position, and one in the middle position for well-rounded but clear tones. These are amplified by a Tri-Tone active/passive preamp. This comes with three toggle switches for pickup selection, as well as parallel/series routing and selection between active and passive operation.
Some extra premium appointments include a highly figured roasted maple neck with a 12-inch radius and medium-C profile, as well as a locking saddle bridge and six-screw neck join for extra stability.
The 40th Anniversary Custom Shop L-2000 is limited to 40 pieces worldwide. Find out more at glguitars.com.
