Godin launches the Radium

Godin Guitars has launched a new electric that combines the features of the Radiator and Stadium into one: The Radium.

The guitar mashes up two very different singlecut electric design philosophies: on the one hand, it’s loaded with three pickups, (in H-S-H configuration), has a thin body with a belly carve, and a 5-way blade selector switch fitted into a vintage-style control plate. On the other hand, the guitar has a 3-per-side headstock, a short scale of 24.75”, and a set neck. The humbucking pickups can also be split with a push-pull tone knob for extra twang.

The two finish options available for the Radium, Winchester Brown and Carbon Black, each come with different build features.

The Winchester Brown model’s body is 3-piece, made up of a Mahogany Center between Canadian Laurentian basswood wings. The set-neck is Mahogany. For pickups, the guitar is loaded with custom Godin nickel-covered humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions, and a Godin custom Cajun nickel single-coil in the middle position.

The Carbon Black model has an entirely Canadian Laurentian basswood body, and a silver leaf Maple set-neck. It’s loaded with with Custom Godin Zebra Humbuckers, more aggressively voiced than their counterparts in the Winchester Brown model. In the middle is the same Godin custom Cajun nickel single-coil.
