Gretsch has continued the rollout of new guitars to celebrate its 140th anniversary with the Electromatic Center Block Jr.

The G5655T QM Electromatic Center Block Jr. Single Cut Bigsby sports a smaller body made of figured laminated maple, with a chambered spruce centre block. The maple neck is glued on and sports a 12-inch radius on a laurel fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets. The fretboard is completed with traditional Neo Classic thumbnail inlays.

Hardware-wise, the Center Block Jr. is equipped with two Black Top Broad’Tron humbuckers, with individual pickup volume controls and master tone and volume knobs. A Treble Bleed circuit has also been included for greater versatility, and players will appreciate the inclusion of a Bigsby vibrato.

The guitar is available in Speyside, Sweet Tea, Mariana and Hudson Sky with a gold pickguard, and retails at $999.

In other recent Gretsch news, the guitar maker released its Double Platinum Anniversary Collection earlier this month, featuring a series of guitars meant to commemorate the brand’s historic past, while also offering essential features modern players demand of their instruments. The collection is set to be released in May, with prices ranging from £3,949 to £649.
