Guitto has unveiled the GGP-02, an acoustic pickup that delivers built-in effects directly through the soundhole of an acoustic guitar, no amp required. Take a look above.

The pickup appears to operate similarly to that of Yamaha’s TransAcoustic guitar technology, or ToneWoodAmp’s Solo – in that it introduces reverb, chorus and delay effects directly through the instrument.

The GGP-02 takes a dry guitar signal and processes it through a DSP. The wet signal is then sent into the guitar through a vibration unit. According to Guitto, this process then “recycles again and again” to produce a greater wet signal.

Other features on the unit include treble, bass and volume control knobs, and a lithium battery that the brand says will deliver 12 hours of continuous playing time.

Guitto is an offshoot of Joyo – a brand mostly known for its range of affordably priced pedals, including the Baatsin Overdrive – which packs 8 overdrives and lists at only £64.

More information on release dates, and pricing for the GGP-02 have yet to be announced. Guitto has also released a video that details how the pickup can be self-installed. Take a look below:
