Harley Benton has dipped its toes into the ever-widening pool of acoustic guitars constructed from exotic woods, offering a set of affordable models in a number of sizes.

The range includes nine guitars: three choices of body size and three choices of wood top per body shape. Aside from the difference in construction, core specifications remain the same across the whole line: each features mahogany back and sides, a pau ferro bridge, a bone saddle and a satin finish. Electronics consist of the Fishman Presys II paired with a Sonicore pickup.

The three tops available are koa, flamed koa and Java ebony. Java ebony models come with a laminate top, while the koa and flame koa models come with a solid top.

The three sizes are Dreadnought, Grand Auditorium and Parlor. The prices for the guitars range from €255 to €569, making them – in true Harley Benton spirit – a lot more affordable than many acoustics fitted with similar exotic woods. Keep in mind, however, that the choice of exotic wood does only apply to the top – the back and sides are still mahogany, and the fretboard for each model is pau ferro.
