Harley Benton has announced the TB-70 SBK, a sleek and dark take on a Gibson Thunderbird-style electric bass. Like other instrument offerings from the brand, this one comes with a very affordable price tag attached.

The TB-70 features an all-mahogany construction from neck to body and has a roseacer fingerboard with 20 frets. Its body is finished in satin black, and there’s a matching headstock to boot.

In the electronics realm, you’ll find two Roswell GB4 mini humbuckers – active pickups, which are reminiscent of the electronics found on a Thunderbird. Both of these route to a control section with a master volume pot and two tone knobs for each humbucker.

Said Harley Benton on its new rock ‘n‘ roll themed bass guitar: “the eye-catching aesthetics of the bass that inspired the TB-70 SBK quickly became the visual embodiment of harder rock genres.”

“Among the players associated with it are John Entwistle (The Who), Nikki Sixx (Mötley Crüe), Twiggy Ramirez (Marilyn Manson) or Pete Way (U.F.O.) – the list speaks for itself!”

The Harley Benton TB-70SBK is priced at £177.
