Introducing the Harmony Comet, a semi-hollow electric inspired by the iconic H-72
The guitar is a fresh take on the iconic H-72, blending modern features with vintage style.

Harmony – who will be making an appearance at Guitar.com Live – has announced the Comet, the brand’s first semi-hollow body guitar since its return in 2017.
The Comet, which matches vintage style with modern features, is a reimagining of the historic Harmony H-72 from the 1960s, a highly coveted vintage classic.
Joining Harmony’s Standard Series of electrics, the Comet sports many of the premium features in the brand’s other models, such as the Jupiter and Rebel. While you’ll still find Harmony’s proprietary gold foil pickups and locking tuners aboard the Comet, there are fresh developments completely unique to the model.
The Harmony Comet features a double-cut mahogany body to deliver an especially warm tone. This is paired with a C-shaped neck – also mahogany – with an ebony fingerboard and 22 medium jumbo frets. Harkening back to the original H-72, the Comet fashions the same unique headstock design for that requisite vintage look.
In the electronics department, you’ll find two custom gold foil humbuckers, which are routed to a push-pull volume knob and a master tone control. The push-pull function lets players achieve a classic out-of-phase tone – which can be especially potent if you’re shooting for a retro-sounding tone.
As for hardware, the guitar comes outfitted with practical locking tuners, custom cupcake knobs and a bone nut. In keeping to the vintage theme, each Comet is finished in nitrocellulose. There are three colours on offer: Midnight Blue, Trans Red and Sunburst.

One of the more modern inclusions with the Comet is its gigbag, a Mono Vertigo, which offers strong protection (and peace of mind) when taking the guitar from home to studio to gig.
The Comet is slated to launch this November and is available at $1,499.
