NAMM 2020: Harmony launches the Juno, a lightweight, portable single-cut
The guitar reimagines the brand’s classic H44 Stratotone.
NAMM 2020: Harmony has launched the Juno, the latest addition to its Standard Series. It reimagines the Harmony H44 Stratotone, retaining the balance and playability of the original with a few modern twists.
The guitar is a small-bodied single-cut, with a focus on lightweight portability. The mahogany body is loaded with two custom gold foil P-90s, controlled by a master volume knob and a three-way toggle switch. Despite the minimalist appearance of the electronics, there are still some extra tones on hand – the volume knob is push/pull, offering quick switching between different pickup voices.
Harmony’s Head of Guitar Research and Development, Edwin Wilson, said of the launch: “We were blown away by the love for the Juno when we previewed it earlier this year. Players resonated with the tonal options at their disposal from the combination of our P-90 pickups and our simple control layout. With a three-way pickup selector and an intuitive single push-pull volume knob that provides you with two different tone presets, the Juno delivers a fuss-free array of usable tones – from warm cleans to snappy overdriven bite.
“With its smaller body but full 25-inch scale length and C neck profile, put the Juno in any player’s hands and it will just feel right. Its simplicity, tone and sheer playability has stolen the hearts of both professionals and Harmony fans and we cannot wait for more people to get their hands on one,” he added.
The Juno comes in Pearl White, Champagne and Rose finishes, and ships with a MONO Stealth Mini Case that’s been designed specifically for the guitar.
Harmony, founded by Wilhelm Schultz in 1892, was reintroduced to the market in 2018 by BandLab Technologies, which also operates Guitar.com. Most recently, Harmony teamed up with Reverb to reissue a classic 50s amplifier, the 8418.
