Following H.E.R.’s performance of America The Beautiful at the 2021 Super Bowl, searches on for her signature Fender Stratocaster doubled on the online gear marketplace Reverb.com.

Reverb revealed the spike in an Instagram post, and pointed fans in the direction of the product’s page on the site. The guitar currently lists for around £999.

The guitar itself is a unique Strat, finished in Chrome Glow with a matching headstock and one-ply aluminium pickguard. It sports an alder body and a maple neck, secured to the body with a custom-engraved neck plate. Given the guitar’s eye-catching finish and the performance it was a part of, it’s perhaps not surprising that searches for it doubled.

The introduction of the model was notable as H.E.R. became the first black female artist to have a signature guitar with Fender. When it was introduced, Fender CMO Evan Jones said: “As we look to the future of guitar, we believe it’s our responsibility to support the increasing diversity and adoption of the instrument across all genres, and it’s also our belief that investing in more signature projects and collaborations with more Black, Latinx and female artists is an important next step toward expanding the cultural relevance of guitar and the Fender brand.”
