IK Multimedia has announced the Z-Tone Buffer Boost pedal, which allows for fine control of your guitar’s impedance and the addition of JFET saturation, as well as compensation for long cables.

The pedal comes with two footswitches, with one bypassing the pedal entirely and the other engaging the boost function. The Z-Tone buffer section allows for tweaking of the impedance from ‘sharp’ to ‘bold’, ideal for changing how your guitar hits a preamp pedal. Toggle switches also allow you to choose between active and passive, pickup modes, as well as a ‘pure’ clean channel and a slightly saturated JFET preamp.

The unit also boasts independent gain and boost knobs, with 8dB+/- and 10dB+/- respectively on offer from each section of the pedal.

The pedal can also act as a DI box, offering a balanced XLR-out with an optional ground-lift, perfect for running an acoustic guitar straight into a soundboard. A -20dB pad also offers some flexibility in terms of what you’re able to hook up to.

The unit lists for €169.99. Find out more at IKMultimedia.com. For more gear news, click here.
