Jackson gets heavy with the MJ Series Rhoads, Dinky and Soloist electric guitars
Japan-made models with premium humbuckers, sculpted shredder’s cut heel and more.

Jackson’s newly announced MJ Series introduces a range of Japan-made Rhoads, Dinky and Soloist electric guitar models.
The instruments are the latest in a slew of new offerings from Jackson, following the six brand-new artist models which were announced yesterday (11 January).
The MJ Series includes a new Rhoads RRT model, a new Soloist model and four new Dinky variants. Each is packed with high-performance features, from DiMarzio and Seymour Duncan pickups to compound radius fingerboards, sculpted shredder’s cut heels and loads more.
MJ Series Rhoads RRT
The Rhoads RRT sports an alder body and a graphite-reinforced, through-body three-piece maple neck. It’s equipped with two Seymour Duncan humbuckers: a JB SH-4 in the bridge and a Jazz SH-2N in the neck. These are controlled via two volume knobs, a tone knob and a three-way pickup selector. There’s also a TOM-style adjustable bridge with an anchored tailpiece. Rounding off the guitar are all-chrome hardware and Gotoh locking tuners
The Rhoads RRT is available in Gloss Black $2,699/£2,749.
MJ Series Soloist SL2
The Jackson SL2 is built for speed, offering a 12″-16″ compound radius ebony fingerboard and a Gotoh double-locking tremolo bridge for reliable tuning stability and of course, dive bombing action. The alder-bodied guitar features a through-body three-piece maple neck and a 24-fret ebony fingerboard with jumbo frets. It also has Luminlay side dots for shredding on dark stages. Meanwhile, its electronics include a Seymour Duncan SH-4 in the bridge and a Jazz SH-2N in the neck.
The MJ Series Soloist SL2 comes in Gloss Black or Snow White and is priced at $2,499/ £2,529.
MJ Series Dinky DKR
The Dinky DKR’s sculpted shredder’s cut heel offers easy access to high frets. Its construction involves an alder body, a bolt-on five-piece maple/walnut neck and an ebony fingerboard. It equips a DiMarzio Super Distortion DP100 in the bridge and a DiMarzio PAF Pro DP151 in the neck.
You can find this guitar in two colour schemes: Ice Blue Metallic ($1,999/£1,999) with white pickup bobbins and chrome hardware and Satin Black ($1,899/£1,999) with yellow pickup bobbins and black hardware.
MJ Series Dinky DKR MAH
As its name implies, the Dinky DKR MAH is a mahogany-bodied take on the Dinky. It features a five-piece maple/walnut neck with an oiled finish for fast playing. Electronics-wise, this guitar comes loaded with a duo of Seymour Duncan humbuckers: the JB TB-4 in the bridge and the Jazz SH-2 in the neck.
The Dinky DKR MAH comes in Gloss Black and is priced at $1,999/£1,999.
MJ Series Dinky DKRA
The matte black and white finish on this guitar gives it an eye-catching look. The Dinky DKRA matches a mahogany body with an ash top and a five-piece maple/walnut neck to boot. This model also comes with the shredder’s cut heel for easy high-fret access, as well as an oiled neck finish to smooth playability. It comes with two Seymour Duncan humbuckers: a JB TB-4 in the bridge and a Jazz SH-2N in the neck. To round things off, there’s also a Gotoh double-locking tremolo and a Floyd Rose R3 locking nut.
The Dinky DKRA comes in a matte black and white finish and is priced at $2,199/£2,239.
MJ Series Dinky DKRP
Showing off some more colour in Jackson’s repertoire of finishes is the Dinky DKRP – which almost looks like a desert island surrounded by ocean from a bird’s-eye view. This guitar features a mahogany body with a poplar burl top, a five-piece maple/walnut neck and an ebony fingerboard. As for electronics, there’s a duo of DiMarzio humbuckers that route to a volume and tone control and a five-way pickup selector. The very ornate guitar also sports a matching reverse headstock.
The Dinky DKRP is priced at $2,199/£2,239.

Jackson’s new MJ Series electric guitars are set to launch in April 2021.
