Jimmy Page is spilling all about his gear in a new book, The Anthology. The massive compendium documents hundreds of instruments, costumes and memorabilia from the Led Zeppelin guitarist’s personal archives.

The book, which is described as “the legendary musician’s most comprehensive and fascinating account of his life to date”, was curated with Page’s “full participation”, according to a statement. Each piece of gear was personally selected by the guitarist to be photographed.

Page added: “Within the contents of this book, I wanted to include items from my personal archive that have played a part in my career over 60 years, to illustrate the detail behind the detail.”

“Rare” and “previously unseen” pieces from Page’s collection will be featured in The Anthology, alongside some of the guitarist’s most recognisable instruments, such as his double-neck Gibson SG.

The Anthology will also be filled with handwritten diaries, correspondences, rare vinyl pressings, previously unpublished photographs and more, beginning from Page’s pre-Led Zeppelin era.

The Anthology is available now at shop.jimmypage.com for £45.

Earlier this month (5 October), Led Zeppelin emerged the victors of a six-year copyright battle over Stairway To Heaven, in which the estate of singer Randy Wolfe accused the band of plagiarising the Spirit tune, Taurus.
